Mass Shooting at California Birthday Party Leaves 4 Dead, 10 Injured

A mass shooting occurred at a birthday party in California, killing four people and injuring 10. The shooter remains at large.

The shooting occurred at a restaurant during a family gathering on Saturday night in the northern California city of Stockton on Sunday (November 30, 2025).

According to the BBC, local police said the victims included adults and children. The condition of the injured has not been confirmed.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said the shooting occurred shortly before 6:00 PM local time (02:00 GMT Sunday). Police urged anyone with "information, video footage, or who may have witnessed any part of the incident" to come forward.

Meanwhile, spokesperson Heather Brent described the incident as "unexpected." She added that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

"This is a very active and ongoing investigation, and information is still limited," she said.

"Initial indications suggest this may have been a targeted incident, and investigators are exploring all possibilities.

Meanwhile, Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi condemned the incident. She called the shooting "unacceptable."

"Families should be together, not in the hospital, standing beside their loved ones, praying for their safety," she said.
